DR. HERBERT MENDELSON
Born on October 18, 1933, Dr. Herbert Mendelson's journey exemplified determination, resilience, an unwavering commitment to excellence, and a zest for life. He discovered his passion for helping others early on, thanks to a high school football injury that opened his eyes to the potential of healing. Growing up in a challenging environment, he overcame countless obstacles and worked hard to pursue his dreams. Despite facing financial hardships, Dr. Mendelson persevered, putting himself through college and medical school. He attended Wayne State University and successfully pursued his medical degree at the esteemed University of Michigan. After completing his medical education, Dr. Mendelson embarked on his residency, training in various hospitals and clinics across Detroit. Dr. Mendelson eventually partnered with Dr. Richard Hall, a senior resident who shared his values that taking care of people was the most important aspect of their work. Their goal became to outwork each other and provide exceptional care wherever they went. In 1963, Dr. Mendelson and Dr. Hall co-founded Mendelson Orthopedics. Their shared vision of patient-centered care, compassion, and excellence in orthopedic surgery laid the foundation for a practice that would become synonymous with superior healthcare. Together, they established an environment where patients felt valued, respected, and cared for as individuals.
