Meet Our Hand Therapy Specialists

Denise Claiborne, Certified Hand Therapist (Livonia)Claiborne-Denise-web

The hand therapy program at Mendelson Kornblum Physical Therapy is headed by Denise Claiborne, MS, OTRL, CHT. Denise earned her recognition as a Certified Hand Therapist in 1991 and has since established herself as a respected practitioner in the areas of upper extremity injuries, splinting, and cumulative traumas. Denise graduated from Wayne State University with Bachelors and Masters Degrees in occupational therapy. A certified hand therapist, she has been practicing for nearly 20 years and specializes in upper extremity rehabilitation, custom orthotics, and ergonomics.

 

Amy Hauxwell, Occupational Therapist Specializing in Hand Rehabilitation (Warren)

Amy Hauxwell, OTR is an occupational therapist at Mendelson Kornblum Physical Therapy in Warren. Amy has over 13 years of  upper extremity rehabilitation experience and specializes in upper extremity rehabilitation, custom orthotics, and ergonomics. She has a passion for treating hand-involved injuries where she applies her splinting and specialized training to treat patients, and for learning new information and being on the leading edge of intervention for the hand, wrist and elbow. Outside the clinic, Amy has been an instructor for Macomb Community College teaching in the COTA program.

Marcie Moran, Occupational Therapist Specializing in Hand Rehabilitation (Livonia)

Marcie Moran, COTA/L, BS, received her Associates Degree as certified occupational therapists at Schoolcraft College and her Bachelors of Science degree at the University of St. Francis in Illinois.  Marcie has over 35 years of exclusive hand rehabilitation experience.
