EDUCATION

Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wayne State University in 1955

MEDICAL SCHOOL

The University of Michigan Medical School from 1955 to 1958 and obtained M.D. Degree in 1958.

INTERNSHIP

One year Internship at Harper Hospital and upon completion in July 1959 Herbert obtained his Michigan State license. He then took one year of General Surgery at Harper Hospital, completing this in July 1960.

For the next four years, 1960-1964, he was in the Orthopedic Training Program at Wayne State University and affiliated hospitals where he trained at Grace Hospital, Harper Hospital, Detroit Orthopedic Clinic, Children’s Hospital, Detroit Receiving Hospital and the Dearborn VA Hospital. He passed his residency in June 1964.

He took and passed the first half of the American Academy of Orthopedic surgeons Board examination in 1963. He then took and passed the second half of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Board examination in 1964 and was accepted into the American Academy of Orthopedic surgeons in 1966.

He obtained his Florida license in 1976.
